I love the way the LGBT community has turned stereotypes around; bigots view queers as sordid, and queers use that as a license to be free to do what they will in public celebration.

This bronze monument dubbed the Peace Statue was erected by and commemorates the 200,000 Korean “comfort women” who were forced to provide sexual services to Japanese soldiers during WWII. The statue sits outside of the Japanese embassy in Seoul, silently confronting the government who has failed to issue a proper apology to the survivors of the sexual abuse.
